Advent Dec. 24th - Go to Great-Grandparents home for dinner, open 1 present under the tree and say good-bye to Max!
Peyton's turn to open advent door #24. We had a lot to do today for advent. Peyton also moved the gingerbread man to the last pocket on our snowman calendar in the kitchen.
Adam and I both had to work half-days, then we got the girls and went home to get dressed for Christmas Eve dinner at Adam's grandpa's home. 
Peyton is wearing Katie's holiday dress from 2006 and Katie is wearing Meg's dress. I bought NEW dresses for all three girls but when Meg saw that they were matching she opted out and wanted to do 'her own thing'. So I returned the 3 dresses, and Peyt & Katie reused dresses and loved them. I tried to get Meg to wear something in the same color scheme as her sisters...but she chose pink and peach.

After dinner all the children go to the back bedroom and wait for Santa to leave something for them. They hear jingle bells and some rumbling noises from the roof, then they come out to the family room to see what was left for them.
Santa left a baby doll for Peyton. She loved this doll and couldn't wait to get the doll out of the box so she could play with it.
Santa left Katie a Mulan doll with a purple horse.
And Santa left Meg a Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) doll and pink horse.

We got home late, it was around 10pm. But the girls needed to do the second part of advent, open 1 gift under the tree. Peyton had fallen asleep in the car so she wasn't to thrilled to be woken up.
There were only three gifts under the tree so it easy for them to pick their 'one' gift. Meg already guessed what it was, pajamas. A tradition in Adam's family was getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve, so we continue the tradition.
My three lovely girls in their new pink pajamas. Then the last part of advent was saying good-by to Max our elf. He was hiding in the tree today. (He's at the top of the tree)
The girls said good-by to Max and they were a little sad, I reminded them that if they were good next year then Max would come back next Thansgiving. They left a place of cookies and some milk for Santa and then it was off to bed.
