Every year we burn our Christmas Tree. We let it dry out for a few weeks and then Adam chops it up into small pieces and tosses it into the fireplace. It takes awhile as we wait for the last branch to burn before we add another piece for safety reasons. We always clear the mantle area and have a fire extinguisher nearby just in case.
The girls sit on the other side of the room (a safe distance) and watch the whole thing.
