10th Anniv Trip - Jan 26 Barcelona, Spain 2

Part 2: After lunch we hoped on the metro to take us to a castle up on the hill. Part of the metro ticket included taking the tram up the hill but the tramway was out of service so a bus took us instead. Here is a view of the harbor where our ship is docked.
Castell de Montjuic is up on a hill that overlooks the harbor and the entire city of Barcelona. It used to be a fortress of some kind, all the signs were in Catalan or Spanish. Adam found lots of guns and canons to explore.
It was cold today (proof: I'm wearing gloves!)

The view of Barcelona from the castle. You can see the tramway rails that we would have taken up the hill, but the bus worked just as nice. Us in Barcelona! After walking around the castle we took a bus back down to the La Rambla area. We only had about 45 more minutes until the last bus departed for the ship.We did some shopping, got the girls matching red/black Spaniard dresses. And then we stopped in a little cafe so I could savor this...
Churros and Hot Chocolate. Every cafe advertised this treat. The churro was more like a sugar donut, and the hot chocolate was thicker than our drink but not as thick as pudding. It was yummy. We then ran over to the bus stop and made it just in time to board the last bus back to the ship.
We got back to our room and got all gussied up for the Chef's Gala Dinner. We lucked out that it was a fancy night on our anniversary. Here we are before dinner.
All the staff and chefs did this huge presentation with flares, music and dancing.
As club members, the staff already knew it was our anniversary...somehow it translated into honneymoon with two n's.
Us with our 'honneymoon' cake on our 10th Anniversary!!
