10th Anniv Trip - Jan 25 Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Hola! We are now in Spain! Well, sort of, today's port is the city of 'Palma de Mallorca', a port on the island of Majorca, located on the Balearic Islands east of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. So we are visiting the Balearic Islands today! But technically Spain.

The island is beautiful. Most of the touristy things we want to do are about a mile away. The taxi's were ridiculously expensive to travel 1 mile ($20) so we walked along the street that follows the coastline. We walked over a bridge that went over this pretty canal, on the right is the "Es Baluard Museum".Next we came across an old abandoned church, "La Llotja". We love history and historical places. This church was so beautiful and to see the details all done by hand in the stone work was amazing. As we continued down the same street, we finally came to the castle!!! "Palacio Real de la Almundaina". Inside was this quaint courtyard with a pond and swans, the girls would have loved this area. The view from the castle overlooking the harbor and our ship in the distance.Having fun at the castle...

next to the castle is the city's big Cathedral, La Seu. WOW! I really wish I could capture on film how amazing this place is. The architecture and little details were beautiful.A view of the Cathedral and castle along the boardwalk above. On the way back to the ship we found a tiny convenience store and stocked up on some "American" snacks...most of the snacks on the ship are geared towards the Italians and Europeans and not what we're used to or would enjoy snacking on.Tonight at dinner was Italian Night!! all the staff wore these cute aprons and made us all dance around the room (I'm in the pic below)Us with our two waiters.
