Family Vacation 2009 - Part 2

Big Sur, CA

We arrived in Big Sur and started making dinner. Peyton loves sitting in the camping chair and watching Adam grill.
After dinner we made some more smores. Yummy.

Our RV backed up to the river, so we were very close to the river. It was nice to hear the babbling noises as we ate our meals or just relaxed outside.

The girls enjoyed exploring, stepping on stones and playing made-up games on the river.

We went on several nature walks in the area. We found trees that had been hit by lightning and some had spilt into two.

We didn't use the stroller that much which Peyton loved, she had such a blast walking around and exploring things just like Meg and Katie.

I really enjoyed having the river so close, it made meal time so peaceful.

We only stayed in Big Sur for 3 days. I would definitely come back here, most of the campsites are on the river (tents, trailers and RV sites). The camp ground was right next to a national forest with thousands of tall trees, squirrels, and birds. The girls loved 'exploring' in the forest. Meg was telling us about rocks, poison ivy (there wasn't any) and other nature things she has learned in school, she had fun being our tour guide.
