RV Camping & Legoland & Labor Day

Both Adam and I grew up with families that camped. My family camped at KOA campgrounds. Adam's family would camp near lakes and go boating too. Adam and I camped before we had kids and then a few times after Meg was born but we always left her behind. The thought of camping with our kids stresses me out, knowing they'll be playing with the fire ring, wandering off, throwing dirt or playing in the dirt....uggh, camping is just too dirty for me now as a mom.

Solution: Adam has always wanted an RV, and the thought of 'camping' in an air conditioned space, with electricity and a clean toilet is 'camping' for me; so we bought a used RV a few weeks ago. This weekend we ventured out for one night in our RV. We went to San Elijo Sate Beach (near Carlsbad) about an hour south of us.Meg loves sitting up front and helping her daddy navigate.

All 3 of my girls.

Once we got to the campground, Adam and the girls ventured down the to the beach....
...while Peyton slept.

After the walk on the beach the girls colored and then watched tv.

For dinner we had chicken and rice, biscuits and corn for dinner. It was nice having an oven, microwave and stove. Peyton was very excited.

After dinner the girls and I played Candyland, Meghan won both times.

The next morning we had pancake puffs and pancakes.

After breakfast we left the campground and headed to Legoland (we have passes) which is about 10 minutes from the campground. Usually it is really busy on Saturday, but it wasn't that crowded (especially since it was Labor Day weekend)

The girls love going on rides.

Since it was hot, we got ice cream. Katie really likes chocolate!!

We got home Saturday night and went to church on Sunday.

On Monday, Labor Day, we went to Adam's mom's home for dinner and swimming. All 3 girls had fun swimming with their Aunts.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend!
