Big Bear lake/4th of July weekend (part 2)

Saturday morning, July 4th, we woke up and the girls played in the living room together. We brought 2 soft drawers of stuff (green thing in pic) with barbies, dolls, P's favorite items, etc.
Adam made pancakes, a Saturday favorite in our home.
After breakfast we got dressed in red, white and/or blue and drove down to the main street/downtown area. Everyone was out walking and enjoying the great day. We shopped a bit. Then, I asked this guy to take a pic of OUR family and this is what I got...us with his friend?!? And his friend is smiling??? I'll crop him out later. Weird.
We found a mexican restaurant that smelled yummy so we stopped and had lunch.
Peyton LOVES beans.
We got to sit outside and the weather was so nice, plus we got to people watch, tons of people were dressed very 'holiday/uncle sam/americana' including their pets, bikes, wagons, and motorcycles.
After lunch we shopped a bit more then headed back to the cabin for naps.
I snapped a bunch of pics of the girls with their flags on the porch stairs. Peyton really liked her flag, she waved it very proudly.
We had dinner at the cabin and then headed towards the lake for the firework show. The grassy area designated to view had a band playing music, but it was really crowded, so we crossed the street and parked on the lawn of some bank. We could still hear the music but had plenty of room.
The fireworks were about 20 minutes late due to technical issues, but was over 20 minutes long. Excellent. It was nice to just sit and enjoy instead of hosting for once.

Sunday morning, the girls played while Adam and I packed the van.
We had a lot of fun on our weekend mountain get-away. Hopefully we'll be able to go there again soon. Thanks again to my boss for the use of the cabin.
Happy 4th of July from the McGary's!!
