Advent Days 10

Dec. 10th (a.m.): Go See the Nutcracker with mommy and both grandmas!!! Last year I took just Meg and Katie to see the Nutcracker, this year Peyton was old enough to join us and I thought inviting the Grandmas would make it a really fun 'girls day' event. Gwen stayed home with daddy.

we are really lucky that we live so close to the Segerstrom Center of the Arts (formally known at Orange County Performing Arts Center ~ OCPAC). Every December the 'Festival Ballet Theatre' puts on a mini Nutcracker ballet just for kids, instead of it being the traditionally 3+ hours its only 45 minutes long, perfect for kids. It highlights all the famous songs and a condensed version of the story. At the end Santa comes out and the whole audience sings a few songs.
The six of us on our special girl's day!
Meg, Katie and Peyton with the Sugar Plum Fairy! After meeting the Mouse King, the Nutcracker Prince, Clara, and the rest of the cast we then went to Ruby's Diner for lunch! Then we walked around the mall to look at all the Christmas decorations. Then the girls got to ride the train...The girls with both their Grandmas in front of the poinsettia tree.Fun and magical day with just the girls!
