It's a tradition in our home to watch Adam cut the tree into little pieces and burn it. He uses his sawz-all (sp?) to cut each branch and then burns them one at a time in our fireplace.
The girls always sit on the other side of the room, they grab their blankets and pillows to watch. Gwennie just stared at the fireplace!
Meg and her new doll got comfy and watched too.
Each branch lights up fast (really fast cuz the tree is dry). Adam waits for the flame to die down before he adds the next branch. It takes awhile because he goes slow, but its a safer to go slow. And yes we have a fire extinguisher. Once all the branches are burned, he cuts the trunk into logs and then burns them for the rest of the evening.
The tree is all gone! Now to put the living room back to normal...
