Weekend @ Big Bear Lake

Sat July 30th: We left Saturday night and drove up to Big Bear for the weekend. Due to me being 30 weeks prego and having a few complications we needed to stay close to home. As we arrived at Big Bear Village we noticed the dark rain clouds and then it began to rain. Opps, we didn't check the weather, oh well. We then settled in at my boss' cabin (free lodging!) and ate dinner at the cabin.
Sun July 31st: The girls woke up to Adam making pancakes. The girls love staying at the Graham Cabin and sitting at the counter. It rained all night long, including thunder and lightning. After breakfast the girls colored and then watched the rain and a few daring squirrels scurry in the trees. We spent the day being lazy, playing games and hoping the rain would stop.
Monday Aug 1st: Hallelujah! It stopped raining! Today is Meg's 10th birthday and we are going to go out in the boat today. The girls were so excited to get their swimsuits on and see the sun outside.
We drove over to the marina and launched our boat. Then Adam and the girls hopped in the boat and headed towards our friends dock (they rented a cabin on the lake with a private dock) while I drove back to their cabin.
After a long day of swimming, boating and playing (I read and relaxed in the shaded patio) we had BBQ for dinner then celebrated Meg's 10th birthday with an Oreo cake.
Tues. Aug 2nd: This morning our family plus our friends met up at the Big Bear Zoo.The girls loved seeing all the animals. Here are the five monkeys in front of the bear exhibit.
After the zoo we headed towards the village for lunch, then back to their cabin for more boating! It was so nice to have the private dock.
Adam loves to drive the boat and the kids love to go fast!
Late Tuesday we headed back home. It was a fun extended weekend.
