As a 4th grader this year at her school, Meghan got the opportunity to participate in a program called G.O.A.L. which teaches the basic game of hockey to kids. The Anaheim Ducks (yeah, the pros) sponsors her school and is very supportive financially and with other perks (mascot Wild Wing comes to a lot of school events).
Through the school year they had hockey lessons at the school (practiced on the blacktop) and several practices on the ice (via field trips). All the equipment was provided through the program. Well today they finally get to have a scrimmage game and show all their families what they learned this year. Since it was on Katie's birthday, we moved her party time so everyone could attend Meg's game too. Here is our hockey player Meg!
The kids rotated every two minutes so everyone got time on the ice. Here is Meg (with braids) and her Uncles Taylor & Andrew and little cousin Azlin. All her uncles had advice for Meg! They would talk to her thru the glass.
