Mother's Day Luncheon

My mother-in-law Babette's ward (next ward from us, same stake) was having a "Mother's Day Tea-Party Luncheon" for all the ladies in their ward. (No tea was served, just pink lemonade and water) The ladies were to bring their mom, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, aunts, etc. So Babette and Morgan invited me, Meg & Katie to attend. "Fancy Spring Attire" was encouraged!!
It was at the home of one of the ward members. When we arrived, each little girl was given a piece of light-weight construction paper about 3 feet square. There were markers and crayons for them to color it anyway they wanted.
THEN, you place the center of the paper on top of the girl's head, smash down the sides to cover her head completely, take masking tape and wrap around the head from the forehead line-above the ears, then roll up the sides of the paper, add tissue paper flowers for decor and wallah! you have a fancy tea-party hat!
I took pics of them with their new fancy hat. Me and my fancy girls!
The backyard was very pretty. Each table had fresh fruit, scones and tea-cakes. Katie was really enjoying her "tea" (pink lemonade).
Then each of the girls lined up, smallest to tallest, and they each got introduced by "name, age, and favorite thing to do" and they paraded between the tables.
Meg is the the green hat, far right side, to the left of the lady in the white sweater. There was 30 little girls that paraded.
Then it was lunch time. The young men, dressed in black pants, white shirts, and fake black mustaches, brought trays of sandwiches to each table. After lunch they brought cupcakes to everyone!
It was so hot, that's my only complaint. The luncheon was so cute and fun. Both the girls had fun playing tea party. Thanks Babette & Morgan for the invite!
